Home › About Us
We are a family that fell hard for this daft, devoted little breed — and now we raise a small number of Shih Tzu puppies the way we would want our own to be raised.
Shih Tzu Puppies For Home is a small, family-run breeding home. We are not a kennel and we never will be. Our dogs live in the house with us, sleep on the furniture they are not supposed to sleep on, and greet every visitor at the door. Puppies are born in our living room and raised underfoot, which is exactly why they arrive in their new homes already used to noise, handling and ordinary family life.
We keep only a few adults and have one or two litters a year. That is deliberate. It means every puppy gets real time and attention, and it means we know each one’s personality well enough to help you choose honestly.
Every puppy is born and raised indoors with daily handling from the first week. They meet the vacuum cleaner, the doorbell, the washing machine and a steady stream of visiting friends and children before they leave us. By the time they go home they are used to a crate, well started on puppy pads, and comfortable being picked up, brushed and having their faces gently wiped.
We are also honest about the breed. Shih Tzu are wonderful companions and genuinely funny dogs, but that coat is a real commitment — daily brushing or a regular clip, or it will mat. They have large, forward-set eyes that need watching, crowded little teeth that need cleaning, and a short muzzle that means heat has to be taken seriously. We would rather talk you out of a Shih Tzu than place one in a home it does not suit.
Our adults are health-screened before they are ever bred, including eye and hip checks and a breathing assessment appropriate to the breed. We breed for open nostrils, sound structure and steady temperament — never for exaggerated features.
Every puppy leaves us vet-checked, dewormed on schedule and with age-appropriate vaccinations started. You will receive their full health record, a written contract and a one-year health guarantee.
When you take a puppy from us, you also get us. We answer questions for the life of the dog, and we mean that. If your circumstances ever change and you cannot keep your Shih Tzu, we will always take them back — no matter how many years have passed. No dog we have bred should ever end up in a shelter.
Video calls, questions, or a visit before you commit — all welcome. We would rather you were certain.
